Bailey 1922 har anor från 1922, då George S. Bailey grundade Bailey Hat Company i Los Angeles, Kalifornien. Han satsade på hattar av hög kvalitet och förenade klassiska och moderna inslag. Under 1920-talet präglades herrhattarna av Hollywoodskådespelarnas stil, något som Bailey fångade upp i sina modeller.Ända sedan starten har märket använt material av hög kvalitet som grund för fedorahattar, pork pie-hattar och andra hattar och kepsar.
