Bart Koene började 1986 med att sälja egenritade badshorts i Saint-Tropez och sålde bandanor i början av 1990-talet. Så småningom hittade han till handgjorda, stickade vinteraccessoarer och grundade modemärket Barts 1992. Sedan dess har det nederländska märket stått för färgglada och originella stickade vinteraccessoarer. I sortimentet finns allt från enkla beaniemössor och grovstickade baskrar till öronvärmare, utmärkande pilotmössor, halsdukar, handskar och mångfärgade mössor med tofs för dam, herr och barn.
